OVERFLOW - .... at Chapel Hill!
WHY WE CALL IT OVERFLOW...

  • OVERFLOW is based on John 7:38.  In it, Jesus says, 'He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'

  • That is our desire for each heart - to be used by God in such a way that the living water of His grace and purposes flows from our lives.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT!

  •  You're likely gonna get a handshake and maybe even a hug.  But more than anything, you'll get a sense of purpose - focusing on the main thing - worship of Almighty God!

  • You can expect sweet music, prayer, a message from Scripture, and a  more intimate walk in Christ.  While our worship service lasts about 45-60 minutes, we hope it will be from the overflow of your personal worship on a daily basis!

  • You can expect a group of students gathering to actually live out and be the church, not just "go to" or "do" church.

"BUT..."

  • "ya gotta be Baptist to go."  While we are distinctly Southern Baptist in our doctrine, you don't have to be Baptist to come -- we are open to everyone! In fact, you may find that we are more similar than you think!

  • "I'd feel weird because I don't know anybody." We've all been new at one time or another, but making friendships at Chapel Hill is easy!  We want to show the love that Christ has shown us to everyone we meet!

  • "I don't have time to be a member."  You don't have to become a member, or you can opt for our church's "watchcare" - make us your home away from home.  Either way, we want you to come and be part of the fellowship we enjoy!

  • "they're just a bunch of religious nuts." We take the gospel of Jesus Christ seriously and want to live according to His purpose.  We believe that having a right relationship with Jesus, not necessarily being religious, is the way in which Christ asks us to live.  However, we do happen to be a little nutty as well! ;)

  • "it's too far to drive."  Can't use that argument!  We're located just a couple of miles west of FSU and right on TCC's campus!

  • "all they'll do is talk religion."  We do think that the Christian Faith is important, but what we really talk about is a relationship with Jesus Christ that matters more than anything else.  We will never attempt to cram religion down your throat, we simply want to invite you into our experiences with Jesus and hope you will come to experience a him as well.

  • "I don't know when stuff happens."  Just remember...7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.  If you want more info, just call our church office at 222-6900, send us an email, keep checking back here on the website, or check out our Facebook group. Of course, you could also just come by Chapel Hill Baptist at 224 Chapel Drive and find out for yourself!
